I just voted and mailed in my ballot from Los Angeles today - what do you think of my choices? For President - McCainProp 8 - yes (makes it illegal for same sex marriage)Early release of drug offenders - no way Jose.Sales tax increase masked as road improvement - NO WAYAlso voted no to the various bonds that would increase spending and taxes even though they make it sound like they'd actually use the money on the projects they're pitching. The only measure I voted in favor of that would increase spending on was for farm animals to be allowed leg room to walk at least once a day instead of continuously being caged in a tiny space confined to not being able to move for their whole lives til they march to the slaughterhouse.I am not homophobic. I simply believe that marriage is for man and woman and don't want gay marriage and relationships to be taught in schools.Measure R says "Traffic relief, rail extensions, reduce foreign oil dependence - To: synchronize traffic signals, repair potholes, extend light rail with airport connections, improve freeway traffic flow, keep senior/student/disabled fares low, provide clean fuel buses, expand subway/metrolink/bus service, dedicate millions for community traffic relief; Shall Los Angeles County's sales tax increase one-half cent for 30 years?"hahaha - all the BS about the roads supposedly improving fluffing up on top only to get to the real measure - increasing the sales tax. I have written before about the HUGE budget from property and special oil taxes that are allocated to fix potholes yet you can't drive down a street that isn't filled with them. Now we are supposed to buy into the sales tax doing ALL THAT listed above? joke. I'm not a dummy, I'm a republican when it comes to these types of measures and know not to fall for them. |
