Default How much is a "fair share" to each citizen of the cost of runing the United States?

if we had a flat tax, no refunds, and a national sales tax, we could reduce teh size of the irs by probably 500 times,Let's call it a 15% income tax, a 15% capital gains tax and a 5% national sales tax, then if there are items that still need to be paid for, we could introduce use tax. That would mean if I earn $100,000 and you earn $30000 I would already be paying more than three times what you pay, why isn't that seem fair to teh one making less? It might seem unfair to the one earning more, but most would probably see the fairness of it.Why should people who earn more, pay a higher rate?

In response to your last question: becasue people who earn less are greedy and jealous. What is the incentive for them to support a plan like this if they are already getting free money and not having to work for it?
